We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your 40 minute initial consultation is to discuss your current health status, review your health history and your future goals and to assess if chiropractic is likely to help you. If so, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. We’ll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.

Castlecrag Chiropractor explains his findings

We explain what we found and how we may be able to help you.

The consultation also gives you an opportunity to ask questions and learn a bit more about chiropractic. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it is important that you’re comfortable with the procedures and policies of our office.

Examination:

Our examination varies based upon what we discover during the evaluation of your health history. What we find will tell us which examinations we need to conduct:

Physical – A general evaluation that may include the recording of weight, pulse, blood pressure and similar objexctive measurements.

Orthopedic – These examinations test your ability to turn, bend and move key joints of your skeletal system through their expected range of motion.

Neurological – Testing of your dermatomes, balance, deep tendon reflexes, muscle strength, eye reflexes and other aspects relating to your central nervous system.

Chiropractic – These test can include postural evaluations, dynamic and static palpation and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.

X-Ray – In some cases the chiropractor will refer you for diagnostic imaging. This can help locate any bone abnormalities, fractures and reveal your spine’s phase of spinal decay.

Treatment:

In most cases the chiropractor will carry out some form of soft tissue work, follow by spinal or peripheral adjustments, however the style of treatment that you will receive will depend on each individual case. For a detailed description of the techniques used at our clinic, please refer to the “Our Techniques” page of this website.

A spinal care plan with accompanying rehabilitation exercises will be formulated to address your areas of weakness and individual goals.
